A look back at the 2023 French Handivoile Championships in Sciez
Sciez, known for its picturesque scenery on the shores of Lake Geneva, recently hosted the successful 2023 French Handivoile Championships. The event brought together sailors from all over France, defying the waters with talent, determination and passion.
Over two days of intense competition, the colourful yachts lit up the waters of Lake Geneva, providing a captivating spectacle for the spectators who came to cheer on the participants. The disabled sailors showed exceptional skill, agility and determination to cross the finish line.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of wind, only two races could be validated, thus depriving the event of the designation of the French double-handed champions for 2023. Nevertheless, the 2023 French Handivoile Championships in Sciez will forever be remembered as a celebration of adapted sailing, inclusion and surpassing oneself.
As a partner, BARNES Léman was inspired by the will and talent of the disabled sailors, who pushed back the limits of sporting performance. We witnessed the spirit of mutual support and solidarity that marked this event, reinforcing our conviction that sport can create strong bonds and foster personal fulfilment.
