Economic outlook for the first quarter of 2025

After two years of decline, the property market is beginning a tentative recovery. Interest rates are falling, volumes are picking up slowly and prices are stabilising. In the Chablais region, the trend varies according to town and property type. Evian, Thonon, old, new, houses or flats. Here are the first trends to be aware of at the start of the year.

The property market in France in the first quarter of 2025

At the start of 2025, the French property market is showing signs of stabilising after two years of decline. According to the Notaires de France, prices of existing homes are down slightly, by 0.7% year-on-year, but preliminary forecasts point to a moderate increase of 0.4% between now and May 2025. The volume of transactions remains low (803,000 sales over 12 months) but is slowly picking up. Interest rates fell to 3.19% in February 2025, improving affordability.
